Subjects that appeal to me are as varied as the materials I chose to represent them. The images at right are pastels. The image below of a me262A is a combination of airbrush, paintbrush for details and ink pen for insert.

I was thrilled to see such a fine display at the Deutsches museum in Munich. The engine open and on display just screamed illustrate me. The airbrush was perfect for the paint effects.

Life drawing, the interpretation of the human figure in it's natural state is an art as well as a good training ground for drawing the human form in any situation.

I enjoy working with ink, either sketching on the spot or detailed drawings such as these. I especially enjoy the lack of eraase options. My technial pens take a more wandering approach in these drawings.
Sketching on the spot lets you see more than watching alone. It can also help pass the long hours waiting at the border! All these sketches were done at the location specified. On a beach, on a bus, in the stands...

"Always keep a sketchbook at hand and draw everyday."

That is perhaps some of the best advice I was ever given while at art school and I took that advice to heart. I enjoy experimenting with all types of media, from coloured pencil to chicken wire and working in all sizes and locations, from sketching on the beach in Cannes to painting a mural in a kid's bedroom. These playful endeavours help to inspire the imagination and expand the senses.
